Get up! the war´s begun

The text is about when the germans invaded Poland and you get to see it out of Wladyslaw Szpilmans perspective. He works as a Pianist for polish radio. One day he got home from work really tired so he went straight to bed. He got woken up by an explosion and his mother said with fear in here voice "the war has begun". Wladyslaw went directly to the radio station where he could find his friends. 

On his way he saw people standing in groups and shops closing but there was no panic. The people either felt curiosity for what would happen next or surprise for what had just happened. 

A polish army man was standing on top of something and said "they attacked us without warning, this is no way to behave". As he walked away he was shaking his said and muttering "no, this wont do".

the walk to the station took twice as long do to the traffic and during his walk he saw the men who had not been accepted to the military showing there anger by screaming and trashing stuff. He also heard a radio message saying "the germans are on there way!"

three years later as the jewish people where being thrown into the trucks Wladyslaw was separated from his family and he saw his dad waving goodbye with a fake smile as he knew he was going to die. later when Wladyslaw was able to think straight he was sitting on the pavement hearing the srcreams of the people. He tought it sounded like caged birds.
